Office Crush

…And so the countdown continues. Valentines Day is exactly 19 days away. Oh the excitement!!! It’s just enough time to mix and match outfits. This year, V-Day falls on a Friday and like any other girl, I’m stuck at work. Grant it, I do retail and thanks to that, I get to dress and express myself however I want. Nonetheless, I know there are some ladies who work in offices and well, this post is for those ladies who THINK that they can’t dress in the spirit of love because they have to be in slacks and a dressy “boring” top. WRONG! Office attire is the perfect wardrobe to embrace sleek, chic and SEXY! So here’s inspiration #2 of my Valentine’s Day Special, for all the hard-working mamacitas who are stuck in offices full of men in suits. Remember ladies:

"You have to enjoy being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants."

Bubbles Boutique Peter Pan Collar top.
        Steve Madden High-waist slacks.
        Go Jane Single Sole heels.
        DTLA purse.
        H&M bracelets.

Although I’ve never personally worked in an office environment, I do happen to know that dress code is strictly enforced because not only do you represent the company you work for but you also represent yourself as a woman. The amount of skin you expose has got to be minimal if not, NOT be shown AT ALL. So please keep in mind that this is an inspiration. For this look, I was going for a formal yet trendy outfit.

I chose this peter pan collared top because it’s so freakin’ cute. I’ve had it for about 2 years now and have only worn it once. Although it looks very “kiddy”, the chiffon fabric allowed me to embrace a little sex-appeal. Chiffon is a very sheer fabric and you can basically see right through it. To avoid showing off a regular bra, I went for this sweet-heart lace crop bra underneath my top. It was the perfect accent to bring out femininity, sensuality and keep me covered up. The top is pretty basic however, the open sneak-peek back had me sold. It was such a cute “oomph” to make someone take a second look.

Because this V-day outfit is to inspire those ladies who work in an office, I could not skip out on the opportunity to bring out my FAVORITE slacks. These babies are not only comfy but they’re so stylish. They have this whole harem style going on that I love because it keeps me looking trendy without loosing that sophistication. To finish of the look, I went for my typical & basic black heels. I love these. So simple but they bring out such a polished look. Gosh! I LOVE THEM! For accessories, just a basic black purse to keep that whole office theme and 4 gold bracelets.

Now, I know a leather biker jacket isn’t office-wear appropriate but this is actually an idea to wear the minute you’re off the clock. Remember, V-Day WILL fall on a Friday…T.G.I.F.!!!! So ditch the blazer!!! Single or taken, sooner or later work ends and you have got to out to the town to enjoy a few drinks with your girls or grab a late dinner out with your hubby. Either way, a leather jacket will make your work attire look more simple, clean, casual and appropriate for a night out.

Well there you have look #2! Hope it helps and remember, whatever you wear, wear it with confidence. You might not be able to wear chiffon at an office because it obviously shows off too much but you can definitely find a peter-pan collar top with a thicker fabric and rock this look. Have a lovely week my lovies! I’ll be back Wednesday with another post :)

Waldo Love

With the start of the new year, I’ve tried to make some changes into my life. So far so good. This is why I’ve lagged posts on my blog. I apologize for that but to make up for it, I’ve decided to prep you up with a few ideas for one of the most loving days of the year…February 14, Valentine’s Day!

Bubbles Boutique Striped sweater top & jeans for $10
      Ross crossbody bow purse
      Lola Shoetique “Dirty Talk” heels

If you know me personally, you know that I am a huge, HUGE..Hopeless Romantic. I love believing and trusting that LOVE truly is the cure of anything and everything. That without love, life has no meaning. We learn nothing without love and would never experience the greatest feelings of all. I have to admit, LOVE is my greatest strength but it’s also a weakness. That’s the thrill of love…it’s full of SURPRISES. With every surprise there’s joy and possible pain. But look at the bright side, pain is gain to be better. To gain new lessons. To learn and take advantage of appreciating the little things that surround us in life. So with that said, let’s move on to my first look of LOVE: A Valentines Day Special. Shall we?

Valentines Day, whether you’re single or in a relationship, for most girls means dressing up in the name of LOVE. I know I’m not the only one who thinks like that. So here’s a very casual idea with a tad bit of sexy-ness. This outfit was actually inspired by the infamous “Where’s Waldo?” books that I use to obsessed over as a kid. I clearly remember my mom taking me to the library and a “Where’s Waldo?” book would always come back home with me. I thought it was a perfect outfit ensemble for those ladies who love looking for love in books, movies, people, family and friends.

This outfit has been one of my favorites thus far because it’s chic & comfortable. It’s perfect for a lunch date with your girlfriends or a movie night with your special someone. Needless to say, you don’t have to worry about the tight dresses and the fancy hair-do’s. For accessories, I decided to go with gold accessories laying two different necklaces together that i bought in DTLA alleys for $1 each. The bracelets were from H&M just to add some “arm candy”. Lastly, I really didn’t want to be carrying around my usual black & heavy purse. So to keep the look casual, I just threw on this cross-body purse that I hardly ever use. I thought it would just be a cute little element on the side.

My favorite thing about this whole look has got to be my shoes…No surprise there, right? :) The day I saw these shoes online and in my size, I knew I had to get them. It was a steal or I was about to miss out on a great deal. It was the perfect touch to spice up the outfit. I’m so in love and I know I say that about all my shoes but I really do love all my shoes. I’m a shoe lover. It’s my weakness and my greatest pleasure because they always fit…as long as it’s my size :)

Well there you have look #1. Hope you guys like this casual and super  effortless look. Remember, casual doesn’t mean bumming. You can still look good without having to jeopardize your comfort. Till next time my lovies. Have a good night and a beautiful week.

N.Y.E. Sparkle

HAPPY NEW YEAR GIRLIES!!! :) I can’t believe we finally welcomed 2014. It’s so exciting to start a new year! It just feels like a fresh new start. A clean slate to fight any battles life may throw and enjoy all the new possible memories. I can’t wait. Like all other years, I didn’t make a resolution list but I did however, tell myself that this year I was going to make drastic changes to my life. I want to make changes in every way possible so that by the end of 2014, I have something to show for it and for my own pleasure, feel like I took advantage of every single open & closed opportunity. If God permits, this year will be life changing! So, don’t worry if you don’t have a list…changes can occur at any given time, the moment YOU decide your life needs a change. So take advantage NOW and chase after your dreams. Reach for your goals and grant all your hearts desires.

Bubbles Boutique Oversized Sequin Knit top
Fashion Street LA Faux Leather pants
             Michael Kors Patent Leather heels

So this post is going up a little late but HEY! Better late than never…right? :) When it comes to New Year’s Eve, I have that day reserved for my boyfriend. We usually go up to Palmdale, CA and await for the new year with his family. It’s always fun to go up there and share new memories with them. Their honestly the very BIG family I never had, aside from my small family of 6, my dog Prince included :) So anyways, this New Year, we went up to Palmdale and for those who aren’t familiar with L.A. weather and Palmdale weather, let me tell you. Despite it being about an hour & a half drive, the weather change is drastically different. It’s so cold up there during the winter, at least for me. It’s usually about 20 degrees lower and that to me, is a HUGE difference. This is why, I opted for a more comfy, warm outfit without having to loose the sparkle this New Year’s Eve.

I was a little hesitant to make this post because the top that I’m wearing looks very “boring” and just ordinary. However, it’s far from that. This knit sweater-top is actually very detailed in sequins and it even has a pocket on my left side. It has a very oversized, slouchy look that I love because I can dress it up or down for any occasion without loosing the pretty look. The top shines so beautifully in the sun and it looks gorgeous on. It has the perfect amount of sparkle for a New Year’s family gathering. Not only do you stay warm but you shine enough to avoid loosing the N.Y.E. spirit. In the picture below, the boyfriend was able to capture some of the sequins. Can you see the camouflaging pocket?

To keep that “eye-catching” look, I avoided jeans & dress pants and opted for my faux leather pants…AGAIN! I know, I know. I seriously need to give these pants a break but man!!! That’s how obsessed I am with them. They are my Go-To’s and life savers. They keep any outfit looking trendy, chic, edgy and sexy!

As for shoes, well I just knew I wanted to wear black lady pumps. These were perfect to finish of the look. I avoided all accessories this time and let my outfit do all the talking.

Hope you ladies enjoyed this post and remember, change is good. So break free from all that is negative, do good things for the world, feed your faith, encourage everyone with positivity, love your parents, love YOURSELF, help, create and progress by making all your dreams come true. Life will never be easy but it does get better with time, hard-work, effort and true love. Blessings my darlings…and again, HAPPY 2014! May God Bless you.
