Rue Love

As many of you know, street-wear is a HUGE element in my closet. As much as I love to embrace my femininity, I’m also all about embracing the street culture. Comfort is a must in my book and more importantly, throwing on a pair of sneakers. What can I say, living in Los Angeles aids for Ts and jeans to be worn year round without a fail. So here’s today’s “infamous” L.A. look featuring and supporting one of my friends clothing lines, Rue Co.

Rue Co. “Vena Amoris” T-shirt found HERE

When it comes to the city of angeles, snapbacks and Ts fit effortlessly. They’re timeless pieces for us Angelenos. I specifically based this look off this mens T-shirt because of it’s simplicity. We all know that white is the most refreshing color and when it comes to laid-back looks, I love to be inspired by the boys. I had the T-shirt altered into a boxy crop-top because it literally fit like a mini dress. Love the turn out. The pocket detailing had me sold. It’s a cute little feminine touch of LOVE for the boys to rock!

Initially I wanted to wear high waist jeans but again, too hot! So I opted for shorts. The flannel around my waist was a small touch to avoid any booty exposure and again, flannels are coming back stronger than ever this season. For cool L.A. nights right now, it’s seriously all the warmth we need. To finish off the look…need I say? SNEAKERS! :)

Hope you ladies liked this street look. Be sure to check out my dear friends online shop for dope urban street apparel, RUE CO. This shirt will be available tomorrow morning so stay tune. It’s a must have for all you ladies who love to rock sneakers & basics. Thanks for stopping by my lovies. Besitos. Xx

Fall Affair

With my favorite season here, I can’t help but feel extra happy! Slowly but surely, the leaves are beginning to fall and that excites me because it means that the weather is about to get cooler. Hip hip, HOORAY! However, the heatwave still roams the city and because of it, I’m only able to embrace fall colors…! For now, enjoy my little love affair outfits with Fall :)

                               Forever 21 Booties found HERE
Top & Skort from Bubbles Boutique

The focal piece for this look is most definitely this skort that I’m utterly obsessing with. Currently, my wardrobe owns two skorts and I can honestly say, it’s one of the best clothing pieces ever created. Think about it! You can roam around with a little sex appeal anywhere in town or the city and not have to worry about the wind blowing you into the infamous Marilyn pose.

When it comes to Fall, I do like embracing the typical colors like nudes, browns, black, dark greens like Olive and of course a personal fav, dark shades of red like a deep wine and burgundy! It’s such a beautiful and passionate color…I can’t help but feel sexy when wearing it.

Like always, my looks are very minimal but thats only because I’m a very simple person. I do believe that sometimes, less is more and when it comes to looks like this, I usually like one piece to stand out the most. Had it been a cold day, I would have paired this skort with a cozy black turtle neck top. Something loose fitting. However, given that this day was uber hot, I paired it with a basic black crop top. My booties helped add that grunge edge to this sexy skort.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I’m currently undergoing school craze. Papers, catching up with readings (DON’T PROCRASTINATE!), homework and midterms… ayy! Someone hand me the rifle! haha just kidding! Anyway, once again, hope you enjoyed this simple look. Remember, don’t worry about keeping up with trends this Fall. Wear what you like and embrace your own personal style. Make it yours! Xx

Casually Fall

Now that we finally began my favorite season of all, Fall, I am anxiously waiting for cooler weather to start wearing boots, beanies, scarves, oversized sweaters, blazer, coats and so much more. For now, I kinda have to work around summer styles with Fall colors. The heat is still here and the short shorts are in season more than ever.

Feather blazer from Bubbles boutique or  HERE
                       Shorts + V-neck T from Bubbles boutique
Booties from Forever 21 found HERE

With the end of Summer, I slowly and casually want to start transitioning my outfits into the Fall. Here’s the very first one. My entire outfit revolved around this AMAZING feather print blazer. The moment we got it in, I went “ga-ga” for it. The colors, the print, THE FIT! It was all perfect…especially the fit! Things don’t always fit me well. I usually have to do side alterations or alter the length but this blazer fit like a glove!

Since we barely entered the Fall season and let’s be real, it’s not even close to being cold, I wanted this look to be extremely casual. A “How To…” idea for dressing down blazers and more specifically, a printed blazer with such loud colors. …And well, whats more casual than denim! I chose to pair a simple V-neck T with these denim shorts to let the blazer do all the talking. I really love how the denim blue contrasted with the blazer and allowed the vibrant colors to pop.

The white v-neck T was just another basic to achieve a relaxed look. It help keep the look simple and refreshed. To finish the look, I threw on these booties to add a little bit of edge. Boots and booties are must haves for any season, especially for the cooler seasons. Leather or in this case, faux leather, can give your outfit the perfect amount of casual edge to avoid a dull outfit.

Well there you have my first Fall style post. I know loud colors aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and COLOR isn’t exactly neutral but you will see in a later post how this blazer will transition smoothly into my Fall wardrobe. Think about it, don’t the feathers just remind you of Thanksgiving? I know they do for me :)

Anyway, as far as the outfit itself, if this blazer is too much, try a solid color blazer and it will work wonders to dress up in a dress down style. Hope you ladies liked this one! Can’t wait to share my next post this weekend. It’s comfy, cute and with a Fall inspired color. Stay tune my lovelies! ..And if you want to keep updated with my posts, create a Tumblr and Follow my blog. You will see automatic updates on your feed. It’s totally free!!! Once again, thank you for all the love + support. Xx

Las Flores

HAPPY LAST DAY OF SUMMER!! Yup! It’s true. Today was the official last day of Summer 2014! I can honestly say it has been the BEST Summer of my life. I look forward to many more like this one with my family, my dog and my girlfriends. Oddly enough, it wasn’t blazing hot today but it was warm which is ideal here in L.A. So to honor the last day of Summer, I wanted to bring out one of my favorite two piece sets. Florals in the Summer never looked better don’t ya’ think?

                     Floral set : Bubbles Boutique
                     High top Sneakers: Converse
                     Denim long Sleeve: Bubbles Boutique

One of my favorite alternative rock bands is Cafe Tacuba and when I bought this set, it reminded me of their infamous song called “Las Flores”. Translation: The Flowers. Obvious right? So this outfit was actually inspired by this song because when I listen to it, I feel happy. I feel like a dreamer and a hopeless romantic. I feel like a little girl dancing her life away in a meadow full of flowers. I’m a huge, HUGE dreamer you guys and as crazy as this sounds, that’s just me.

One of the things that had me sold with this floral set, were the side pockets on the shorts. Apart from that, the shorts were long enough to cover the booty. Lately,  when it comes to short shopping, everything shows the booty and well its not so much MY cup of tea. So with the shorts on this set, it was long enough to cover but short enough to look cute.

For this playful look, I wanted to keep it PLAYFUL. Which is why I went with the most classic sneaker of all time, chucks! They never, EVER fail. To keep the look even more classic, I decided to bring out my high tops. I added the denim around the waist to give it an even more casual look and make the colors pop.

So for this shoot, we had to move locations because the sun was DIRECTLY hitting me that I couldn’t even open me eyes as you clearly saw above. But as cute as that pink wall was, we were able to find this cute little spot, with a lighter shade of pink and an uber cute doorway to what seemed to be a secret garden. Okay I’m just kidding, it was a home but still, it reminded me of a cute garden entrance.

Not only is tomorrow MONYAY, the beginning to a NEW week but Tuesday will be the first day of FALL!!!! FINALLY!!! My favorite season of all. Although here in L.A. we won’t start experiencing the cold until much later in the month or even October, I’m excited to simply start showcasing Fall colors. It’ll be a fun and interesting style month. Hope you ladies enjoy tonight’s post. I’ll see you back here tomorrow with my first fall outfit. Until then, sweet dreams my lovelies. Hope you had a beautiful & stylish weekend! Xx

Living!

I AM. I am ALIVE! I am HAPPY! I am chasing my wild rabbit and busting my little tush to find life’s treasures! I am OFFICIALLY BACK! I AM LIVING!!! You have no idea how good it feels to log on to my baby blog, ready to restart & refresh where I last left off but with an even bigger vision. God above knows how much love I have for this. God above knows how much passion I have for simply writing about what I LOVE! This has nothing to do with following the crowd, with following the latest trends or “fitting in”. This is me LIVING my life with the purpose of inspiring you girls to chase, like Levi Maestro would say, “chase your own wild rabbit.”

                        “Living” cap found HERE
“Nike LunarElite Sky Hi” sneakers found HERE

For tonight’s post, I wanted to once again share my love for comfort, simplicity and sneakers! L.A. has been on a whole other level of hot & humid lately so I decided to bring out one of my favorite skater dresses. This baby has saved my life so many times. It’s short, fun & flirty. The whole ballerina silhouette sold me. Best part, it’s black! You can never go wrong with black!

To keep me from the blazing sun rays, I decided to bring with me a cap. “Living” is a design piece by Levi Maestro. When I first came across one of his videos on YouTube, I fell in love with his persona. The man is a visionary. A creator. A motivator. A hardworking man with nothing but a positive outlook for the future. When you hear him speak, you can’t help but feel inspired. You can literally feed off his positive energy just by listening to him off a computer screen. So of course, I couldn’t help but support his POSITIVE movement to LIVE LIFE! It’s all so beautiful and I am a proud supporter of people who make what they love and do good.

I was purposely going for a major BLACKOUT outfit today because I wanted all the focus on my sneakers. After months of searching, I finally found a pair of these babies AND in my size! I am obsessed (aren’t I always?). HA! Seriously though, BEYOND COMFORTABLE! Wow! I feel like I’m walking on fluffily clouds. To finish off the minimal look, I wore my favorite style of sunnies, aviators and a few side bracelets.

Hope you dolls enjoyed my first post back from a VERY long break! It’s been months but now that I’ve gotten rid of a lot of things that were holding me back from LIVING my life the way I wanted, you will see me post A LOT more! Tomorrow is MONYAY!!! Yes, MON-YAY!! Every day counts, including Mondays so make it count! LOVE YOU GUYS! And a huge thank you to all that kept coming to visit my blog. IT’S AMAZING! I feel so blessed and humbled to have your support! THANK YOU!
