Spring Blues

Hi Lovelies! It’s been quite a while since my last post. So much has been going on that I’ve hardly had any time for myself. I’m on a “school, work, church, family and business” kind of schedule. It’s been a good productive couple of months. I can’t complain. I’m BLESSED! Anyway, the last time I posted, we were still on a Winter time frame and now…we’ve welcome a new beautiful season, Spring! Yes ladies! It’s time to bring out the florals, the colors and the sandals!! So excited to show you guys all the outfits I have in store. So let’s begin with a little Spring Blues… <3

During the Spring season, we are accustomed to see a lot of floral prints. The more the merrier. Personally, I am a HUGE flower lover. You can call me “flower child”. I ADORE them. Flowers make me oh so happy and whenever I receive them, it makes me feel BEYOND beautiful & special. So if you ever want to gift me something, FLOWERS! They will never fail to make me happy and feel loved!

For yesterday’s outfit of the day, the weather in Los Angeles was BEYOND beautiful. It was warm with a slight breeze. The skies were blue and the sun shining down brightly. It was the perfect excuse to bring out this dress. The floral print made me think of Summer in Hawaii (not that I’ve ever been) BUT, I knew it was a good choice to make a spring statement.

This dress became an instant must have, not only because navy is a newly found favorite color, but also because of the deep V-cut. When it comes to skater dresses and other dresses with some sort of flare, its inevitable for me not to look like I’m 15 years old. So when I saw that the dress had a V-cut, I knew it would add an “oomph” that said, “Hello Twenty-Something year old”. In other words, I am a grown woman.

The floral on this dress (peonies) are a huge statement that I definitely did not want to throw on crazy accessories (not that I ever do). Just a few simple gold rings, a couple bracelets to avoid the word “bare” and of course, a linen blazer to polish the look. Clearly, for a relaxing day like it was yesterday in L.A., I wanted to ditch the heels/wedges. I kept the relaxed look and threw on my pair of white chucks. Who said girls can’t wear dresses with sneakers!

So there you have my Sunny day in L.A. outfit post. I’ve missed writing and posting for your guys so much! Tomorrow is the first day of April and I can’t wait to show you ladies all of my outfit adventures. Until next time my lovelies…oh and for all you ladies who have been faithful followers, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I humbly appreciate all the positive feedback! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Nothing makes me happier than to be able to help you guys with my ideas and share my style into your wardrobe.

Lent: 40 days to WHAT!?

fashionstreetla:

It’s that time of the year again, well if you’re Catholic anyway. It’s Lent, better known as 40 days to “give up” a pleasure or habit. Nonetheless, I want to clarify as to what Lent is meant to be or at least to me. Everyone who participates during lent, Catholic or not (I don’t understand why you would partake in lent if you’re not Catholic haha but its okay) for 40 days and 40 nights gives up something to what we call “bettering ourselves”. HOWEVER, lent is a time of reflection. It is a time period where, for 40 days, you acknowledge and look for a new way to approach life as a whole.
